Book Talk and Lunch with Dr. Younus Y. Mirza

Please join author Dr. Younus Mirza, Scholar in Residence at Shenandoah University and Visiting Researcher at Georgetown University, for a lunch-and-learn discussion on February 5, from 12:00-1:30 p.m. in Lutnick 200. His recent book, The Islamic Mary: Maryam Through the Centuries, explores the role of Maryam as written in the Qur'an and other scriptures, through to presentations in modern art and film. Mirza's research focus includes how stories evolve through varying religious traditions, including Islam, Judaism, and Christianity. This event is co-sponsored by the Department of Religion and Institutional Diversity, Equity, and Access. Light lunch will be provided, including vegan and gluten free options.
