“Bijective Combinatorics for Macdonald Polynomials" with Zeus Dantas e Moura '24
About this event
Join the Libraries and the Mathematics Department for the first Young Adult Alumni Lecture of 2026, with Zeus Dantas e Moura '24! (Tuesday, February 3, 2026 | 4:30pm in Lutnick 200) Abstract: A common approach in algebraic combinatorics is to study algebraic objects, such as polynomials, through generating functions. Research in this area often focuses on finding new combinatorial formulas or using known ones to obtain new algebraic results. This framework is applied to Macdonald polynomials, which are modeled using tableaux, and identities involving them are proved by constructing bijections and probabilistic bijections between combinatorial objects.
